Approximately four years ago, John Gormly, now 77, underwent what he anticipated would be a routine blood test. The results, however, delivered profoundly life-changing news.
An initial medical test suggested Gormly had colon cancer, a diagnosis later definitively confirmed as Stage 2 by a colonoscopy. This stage indicates the cancer had penetrated through the wall of the colon but had not yet spread to his lymph nodes.
Gormly, CEO of a construction company near Newport Beach, California, initially expressed skepticism regarding his doctor’s diagnosis. He informed Live Science that he felt no symptoms and believed the assessment to be mistaken. However, a subsequent colonoscopy definitively confirmed the medical findings, revealing the reality of the condition despite his initial disbelief.
